1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how Shopfluence (“Shopfluence”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you visit our website, install or use the Shopfluence Shopify application, or otherwise interact with our services (collectively, the “Services”).
Shopfluence is designed for Shopify merchants and their teams. Because the app can operate on merchant storefronts and process information connected to a merchant’s Shopify store, the information we receive depends on the features enabled by the merchant and the permissions granted to the app.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information you provide directly
- Contact information such as your name, work email address, company name, and information you include in support requests.
- Account and configuration information needed to operate Shopfluence for your Shopify store.
- Information you provide when communicating with us, including feedback, support messages, and other correspondence.
2.2 Information received through Shopify
When a merchant installs Shopfluence, Shopify may provide information and store data permitted by the app’s approved access scopes. Depending on the functionality used, this may include shop information, product information, order-related information, theme or storefront information, customer-related information, and usage or analytics data.
We only request and use information that is reasonably necessary for the functionality of the Services. The exact data available to Shopfluence is controlled by the permissions configured for the app.
2.3 Video and content information
If the Services are used to display video content, we may process video files, thumbnails, titles, content URLs, product associations, engagement signals, and related metadata supplied by the merchant or an authorized source.
2.4 Automatically collected information
We may automatically receive technical information such as IP address, browser and device type, operating system, pages viewed, referring pages, approximate location derived from IP address, timestamps, and diagnostic information. We use this information to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Services.
3. How We Use Information
- Provide, operate, maintain, and improve the Services.
- Connect video content with products and commerce experiences configured by merchants.
- Provide analytics, reporting, and product performance information.
- Authenticate users, maintain security, prevent abuse, and detect fraud or unauthorized activity.
- Respond to support requests and communicate about the Services.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.
- Develop and improve features using aggregated or de-identified information where appropriate.
4. How We Share Information
We do not sell personal information for money. We may share information with:
- Service providers: hosting, infrastructure, analytics, email, security, monitoring, customer support, and other vendors that process information on our behalf.
- Shopify and connected services: where necessary to provide the integration or where the merchant has enabled a connected service.
- Professional advisers: such as legal, accounting, or security advisers where reasonably necessary.
- Authorities or other parties: where required by law, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, security, or the integrity of the Services.
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to applicable law.
5. Shopify and Merchant Responsibilities
Shopfluence integrates with Shopify. Shopify independently processes information under Shopify’s own terms and privacy practices. Merchants remain responsible for configuring their Shopify store, choosing the permissions granted to Shopfluence, and providing any notices or obtaining any consents required for their use of customer information.
6. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We may use cookies, local storage, pixels, and similar technologies for essential functionality, security, analytics, and preferences. Some third-party services embedded in or linked from the website may use their own technologies. See our Cookie Policy for more information.
7. Data Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and maintain appropriate business records. Retention periods vary depending on the type of information and the reason it was collected.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. No internet-based service can guarantee absolute security, and merchants should use appropriate access controls for their own Shopify accounts and teams.
9. Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights concerning your personal information, including rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of certain information. You may also have the right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
To make a privacy request, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity and, where you are acting for a merchant, your authority to make the request.
10. International Processing
Shopfluence and its service providers may process information in countries other than the country in which you are located. Where required by applicable law, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.
11. Children
The Services are intended for businesses and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly request personal information directly from children.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Material changes may also be communicated through the Services or other appropriate channels.
